Stealing the Imperial Horse - SilkScreen-Printed artwork from Idlebeats Classic Series #IBclassic#
As a foreign artist who lives in China almost 10 years, IdleBeats’ co-founder Gregor Koerting has very strong interest in Chinese traditional culture, especially the flamboyant imagery of Beijing Opera culture. Among many Beijing Opera selections, one chapter about the vengeful rebel DouErDun from the play Stealing the Imperial Horse, has impressed Gregor the most: DouErDun disguised himself and sneaked into the Kings war camp at night, stolen his horse and left behind a note.
Getting inspired by this story, Gregor created and screen-printed this Stealing the Imperial Horse art print, which is included in Idlebeats’ classic series.
